FAQs
why should i invest in childbirth education outside routine prenatal care?
Whether it’s with NĀMU or with another childbirth education program, we believe extra education outside those short prenatal visits can help empower you with information and additional confidence to have a better birth experience.
what makes nāmu different from other childbirth education classes?
NĀMU appreciates that, just like you and your goals are unique, the ‘optimal’ pregnancy for you is also unique. No group classes or set times/dates or generic advice here. Education directly from a certified nurse-midwife, just like the one who might take care of you during your hospital birth, that is perfectly tailored to what you need.
can i just take an online childbirth course?
There is no one-size-fits-all! If a pre-recorded online lecture series is aligned with your priorities right now, we are sure you can find value there. Our services will be aligned with women looking for a more personal connection and a dynamic conversation,
is personalized pregnancy coaching covered by insurance?
Yes! Most insurance plans either fully or partially cover childbirth education. The process is straightforward: we provide you two documents— a letter and a superbill — that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Childbirth classes are also partially eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).
